Hi, I’m Karen, the designer behind knot a square. I’ve been making and creating for as long as I can remember! I recall mowing the lawn with shapes instead of lines.  Early on, I fell in love with art through painting, textiles, and architecture. Eventually, all those threads wove together into theatrical set design, which led me into the entertainment world. Through it all, • color • pattern • form & • function have been my foundation - the bolder, the better!

I’m endlessly inspired by nature’s kaleidoscope of colors and by rhythms and shapes that hide in plain sight.   Even better when it has been pared down into simple geometry. I love art you can wear. It's practical, yet seriously stylish! And, it makes me smile. 

That’s what knot a square is all about: California cool - adding a burst of color, sparks of joy, and a chance to play with pattern. Easy styling for everyday for everyone to flaunt!
